Summer 2014 is just around the corner!

Welcome to summer 2014!  For whatever reason, the crazies of the world go into overdrive and we start seeing some of the strangest claims reported for the year.  Safeco Insurance recently published a “fun to read” article titled FIVE WAYS TO GET YOUR CAR STOLEN!  In the essence of your time, let me paraphrase with Safeco’s permission…

1) Leave your car running and unattended
2) Keep a spare set of keys INSIDE YOUR CAR
3) Leave valuables in plain sight
4) Leave your car unsecured
5) Assume nobody would want to steal your car

These are all way too easy to understand and at the same time, learn from this little list and keep it in mind when you leave your car, whether it’s at home in your driveway or in some parking lot. (we see many cars stolen every year while parked in the driveway at home, or worse yet, parked on the street at night!)

Here are a couple of other quick insurance tips that make all the sense in the world to consider…

a)  raising your home deductible can substantially lower your rates…up to 25%!
b)  you know whether or not you have a flood concern…if you are in a problem zone, don’t skimp on your flood insurance!
c)  if you do any improvements to your home, make sure its covered…good time to call your insurance agent
d)  you can buy a $1,000,000 umbrella for about $200 per year, how do you NOT buy an umbrella?
e)  did you know life insurance is cheaper today than in the history of life insurance??  Are you prepared??

And finally, have you THANKED A VETERAN lately?  If you do it once you might feel a little uncomfortable….if you do it twice it starts to feel REAL good!  If you do it 100 times, you might be my next best friend…

God Bless America and its fighting forces that give their lives to keep us free!
